Delete META.inf.ĩ.) Then go to your downloaded Optifine and drag all of those files into the jar file.ġ0.) Open up your Minecraft launcher. Next open up the jar file with Winrar or whatever(I don't know if other programs will work). Keep in mind that it HAS to be what you renamed the 1.6.2 copy to, including the jar and json files.Ĩ.) Now save and exit out of the json file. Delete the 1.6.2 part(keep the quotes) and type opt(or whatever). Rename both of those to opt(or whatever you renamed your 1.6.2 copy).Ħ.) Open the json file with Notepad or Notepad++, any other will not work.ħ.) You should see a bunch of words now on Notepad(++). I'm just gonna call it opt.ĥ.) Open opt and you should see a 1.6.2 jar file and a 1.6.2 json file. Make a copy of that and rename it to whatever you want. minecraft and select the versions folder.Ĥ.) Now you should see a 1.6.2 folder. Not sure if it will help but I installed Optifine another way, without Magic Launcher.Ģ.) Type %appdata% and go to your Roaming folder.ģ.) Open.
